Expectations for work
Students are expected to attend class every day and take notes in class. Assignments will be given almost every day and will need to be completed at home if not finished in class. If students get behind, then it will be difficult to catch up, to understand new material that builds on prior knowledge, and to do well on the assessments. There is tutoring available every week and time in class to get help from other students and from me. I expect students to be responsible and do what they need to do to learn the material. Asking questions is a sign of a good student. Be specific with your questions so that whoever is helping you can be the most helpful. Please talk to me or email me anytime if you have concerns or specific needs about the class. Work should be done neatly and as accurately as possible. If you are absent, please get the notes from a classmate, check this site for assignments and what you missed, and try the problems that you missed as best you can. If you are in IB Math Analysis, read the text sections that you missed as well. If you still need help after doing all of that, see me during class or at lunch or flex or talk to me about a time outside of that that might work. Grading will be completed as follows: Tests: 85% Quizzes: 15% Please note that classwork/homework will affect your learning and, therefore, your grade. A: 90-100%. B: 80-89%. C: 70-79%. D: 60-69%. F: 0-59%. You will have the opportunity to retake one test near the end of the semester. The Final is a 1.5x Test and is included in the test percentage/weighting. THE LOWEST QUIZ GRADE FOR THE SEMESTER WILL BE DROPPED WHEN I CALCULATE SEMESTER GRADES. |
